Color My World! is the premier fundraising event for Covenant House Georgia. Held each spring, the annual awards luncheon brings together Atlanta’s community leaders and philanthropists to honor those who help paint a brighter and more colorful future for Atlanta's homeless kids. Among last year’s honorees was the Honorary Chair, Georgia’s First Lady, Mary Perdue and the Good Samaritan and Guardian Angel award recipients.
For many, the highlight of the luncheon is the art fair, which showcases art CHGA youth created during art therapy sessions. Art therapy is one of many therapeutic programs we engage youth in while they are residents of the crisis shelter and independent living programs. There is significant research regarding the value of art therapy for those who have experienced abuse or trauma; which so many of our young people have before coming to Covenant House. Art therapy gives them the opportunity to interface with positive adults in a safe group environment. The art featured in the art fair offers a broad range of items for kids, decorative home and garden items and one-of-a kind paintings. The art fair will be open before lunch is served. This is a great place to purchase gifts for family, grandkids, friends or something for yourself! View photos from last year's event! HERE
